Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Got two Buck 704. JMHO one of if not the finest slip joint ever made. However What happened to the 702, 06,07,&08? Why the jump in number sequence? Not a big deal just a huh.?.

Buck skips numbers for apparently no reason. Even worse they re use numbers for different models.
