I like the KK stamping on the bolsters of your knife also OC, and that's to say nothing of the coffin shape of the bolsters!
Nice knife indeed!

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
Well, staying with the Robeson theme I'll show a couple more.
These are just great knives in pattern and in build.
This knife is 4 1/2" closed. Half stops X 2.

This knife is 3 3/4" with no half stops. I am not sure of this pattern but I am quite fond of it.

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
My goodness, you've got me drooling, Garry.
Is that an Eagle, Falcon, or Hawk model? I'd love to someday own an Eagle cuz they're 9" open, the other 2 models are a bit short for my liking.
Beautiful high quality knife bud!

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
These are Bench Mark Knives. Made by Jenkins Machine Tool in Gastonia, NC. These feature the "Rolox" system, where the blade opens mainly out the front. It is a Blackie Collins design, but probably not his best invention. Bench Mark was eventually purchased by Gerber. While pretty cool knives, not very practical. These two are both the Bench Mark Diamondback pattern, which was the largest model. They also had a Viper and a Sidewinder pattern. These Diamondbacks are pretty hot in the collector market these days. Featured are my Stag and my Cocobolo examples. I had no reason to take these out and play with and wax them, but I did anyway. And I think that is what this thread is about.

Dang, some awesome knives being shown everyone, thanks for posting! Been working alot so was a page or so behind.
Those Bench Mark knives are new to me, never seen one before so thanks for pulling them out. Never heard of the "Rolox" system either, can't really picture how it works

This picture from an old issue of "Tactical Knives" shows a cutaway of the Rolox system.313 Mike wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 2:29 am Dang, some awesome knives being shown everyone, thanks for posting! Been working alot so was a page or so behind.

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
Yes, they lock open very solidly. A key drawback, however, is that the lock release 'lever' is located in the rear on the bottom just about where your little finger is holding the open knife when in use. So, if you are squeezing, you could unintentionally trip the unlock mechanism. That could cause the blade to start its closing roll. That is usually what is cited when folks criticize the Rolox system.
In the two pictured, the Cocobolo works flawlessly. The Stag has a small issue in that when closed any pressure on the back of the blade causes the tip to come up just a little, creating a little "peek." I am trying to figure out how to fix that as I think it is a pretty handsome and unique knife.

Re: Knives you pulled out "Just Because"
I bought these knives from Roland because of several reasons and I like to carry some of them them from time to time.
I also bought some fine dining flatware from him.

Nice showing of a past but not forgotten member's knives, Joe.
You'll always have those to remember Rolland by, good deal.
Looks like some pretty cool and unique pieces you have there!

Really like those Robesons Joe. I have both those patterns with a bit more wear on them. Here is an old warrior I like to get out because of the heft and balance.

Very nice, LD64!
I've admired those 1050's ever since I first saw them, but the price stopped me.
I totally agree with your assessment of balanced and hefty, that's actually what I find attractive.
