The Ideal U.S.A.

Levine's 4th ed says Ideal Knife Co trademark IDEAL/U.S.A. was located in Providence, RI operated from 1926-c. 1986 .
And Goins' says in addition to what is listed above that Dominick & Michael Marseli, with Phillip Magioni founded the company. They went to shell-handle construction in the late 1930's.

Re: Tang stamp question
Get a 15x loupe. Or stronger. They aren’t expensive and my old eyes couldn’t get by without the one I carry in my pocket.
The one I keep in my pocket has 3 lenses, I think 3x, 10x, and 20x. I have another that has a LED light, I think it’s 20x. Neither cost more than about $10.
