Think it’s German

Any idea on this guys ?

Tang stamp is very faint but think from the letters I can pick out it may say made in Germany
It is in incredible condition with a very strong snap both ways and the slip joint is solid no movement
Maybe somebody can help ???

Actually this may say Sheffield at the bottom of stamp ?

Can't make out the stamp but the knife looks English to me.

With Help from the Mrs,

We have cracked it, her eyes are better than mine.

It is a "Venture" Herbert Marriott Slater. Originally founded in 1858 and under a changes over the years (mostly company being passed through the family) they survived until the early 1990's when the owner sold the trademarks and factory (now refurbished into modern offices).

Looks like people like Stan Shaw and other big names, worked and produced knives for this company.

This helps me understand the Exceptional quality of this old knife, I am not kidding when I say it has crododile snap, and feels amazing in the hand, as for a date I just don't know, but defo 20th century as it has black plastic or bakerlite scales, but my days it is the snappiest knife I have ever held, and pretty sure it's way older than me !!!
