Hey all! From the Peoria IL area. I've been collecting knives since 5 or 6 years old (back in the mid 70's). Own only 2 from that era...and boy are they used up relics worth only a memory to me! First was a single blade with mica pearl handles, a souvenir from HOT SPRINGS ALLIGATOR FARM, which was imprinted on one side. I got to pick one item out of the gift shop and this is what I wanted! Been hooked on knives since. BTW, Hot Springs AR alligator farm is still there! Second was a swiss army multi tool knife, red, with box, given to me by my grandfather. Both are heavily used up...half of one side of the red handle gone, and neither knives were well cared for...but well loved and used. I mean, what young kid knows to oil and keep your knife clean? I didn't.
Today, I have right at 100 Case XX knives which I've displayed since 2000. Some customs, but all bought new over the years. Then, I discovered AAPK as I started to look into vintage Case knives, realizing there could be fakes. Nice wealth of knowledge here I hope to use and contribute to. In fact, i did buy some vintage Case knives and now a few of them have me wondering...but that's for another post.
I dig fixed blades too...and have a few military issue.

Howdy, Mike!
Hope you will enjoy the forum. There's always something to learn on AAPK. In fact, reading your post I now know there is a gator farm in Arkansas.
You also reinforced the fact that older Case knives are often doctored up to be something they aren't.
Welcome again!

Thanks, All!
I didn't mention, but have been getting into other brands of folding pocket knives, GEC as one. What rabbit hole! I've always loved having a knife in pocket, but never thought it would turn into this.
Previously, I have restored several vintage cars and bikes, some of which ended up in various magazines. I have also written a few articles for Popular Hot Rodding (no longer in print) and one for Car Craft. That hobby (lifestyle, really!) is still a passion, but with one kid in college and another soon to start, I backed waaaay off and sold what I had to avoid student loans and the like.
I'll be posting unique stuff soon (with pics!) and asking a few questions. THANK YOU!
