Got these two West Marine rigging knives on the way. They are very affordable ($25), 440C, and made in Taiwan (NOT China!).

I have been wanting a one-hand open plain edge sheepsfoot folder that neither broke the bank nor was made in China. Not only is the West Marine made in Taiwan, it is also nearly $10 cheaper than the only other cheap option, the QSP Penguin.

Given the $10 shipping cost anyway, I bought the serrated model as well. I think it will excel in jobs where non-pointed blade is absolutely necessary. Both my Spyderco rescue knives have pointed serrated Sheepsfoot blades, while the West Marine is rounded at the tip, making it safer for use cutting around livestock and people.

I've wanted a Sub-Hilt fixed blade for eons so while my trigger finger was twitching I hammered down on an MTech. I've had good luck with their folders so I grabbed one of these. So now the big mystery. Will they both come on the same day or will it be staggered? Who knows? The Shadow do.

PS ------ The postal system has not received either item but both items have tracking numbers. One is coming from VIRGINIA BEACH, VA the other from DANDRIDGE, TN. The race is on. ::ds::

Seller's picture of course.
Got my two today Jerry, I sure do like them. ::tu::
Did you get yours?

I've never heard of that brand before, y'all have done it to me again! Add another one to the list....

I too am a big fan of a sheepsfoot blade. In my humble opinion it's the most useful blade on a stockman knife. I can see where that one would definitely be handy on the farm.

No doubt about it, that is an unusual handle shape. But I love that blade! I don't think I've ever had a real lambs foot blade, as we don't see them often in my part of the world. But they look like a wonderfully useful blade. I would have had a hard time passing that one up!

I can understand that. The sheepsfoot is my favorite whittling blade.

Is that the Warncliff secondary blade? I’ve really been watching those s35vn knives. I’m actually not the biggest fan of the steel(prefer cv Case knives), but would like to try one out.
