My newest mystery,....

Post by knife7knut »

Not quite sure whether this one is a,'' Pacific Rim '' cheapie or an unmarked custom. Aside from the unusual construction, the frame appears to be made of ''layered'' steel.(see pics of frame edges). Paid 8 bux for it so no big deal. Any feedback always appreciated.

???? Don't understand the mechanism. Is it a folder? How about a 1/2 open pic. Strange one. J.O'.

It is a typical liner lock. The layered steel frame is 1 piece bent 180 degrees in a U shape. On the rear side a small hole is the start of a lasered cutout that forms the liner lock. The blade is flat on one side & concave ground on the other. The blade stop is a tiny Torx screw that protrudes slightly above the top of the frame. Overall f & f is excellent.

Good pics. Now I see it. Very interesting. For the life of me I'll never understand why folks make something and don't label it. I have seen Chinese and Pakistani items with the "stampings" only inked on and they are easily wiped off. Still a mystery ?? J.O'.
