I think Thomasg is referring to this post in the thread I linked. It’s the only post I find in that thread which mentions Quikut. viewtopic.php?f=35&t=22652#p193131

Zimmerman's son-in-law, Lawrence K. Carroll (1896-1969), moved to Fremont shortly after World War I. He entered the cutlery business as an executive with Henkel-Clauss during its early years, but left to organize the Clyde Castings Company of Clyde, Ohio in 1933. Eventually, the company was to become known as Quikut after its move to Jackson and Napoleon Streets in Fremont. Quikut manufactured the popular "Ginsu" knives. In 1964, Carroll sold his interest in Quikut to Scott & Fetzer Company of Cleveland, Ohio."

I’m not saying Quikut didn’t make knives for Clauss, but I see nowhere in the referenced thread where it says they did. It does mention Quikut as evolving from a company started by a former Clauss employee.

I need to know some other opinions, so trying weigh out each answer. This is a debate when it comes to Clauss knives. What’s your thoughts on who made this, Queen or Case? I am thinking Queen but what’s your thoughts?

Shatt and Morgan . I have a #36. # 24. When bought I was told they were contracted by Shatt and Morgan .the #36. #24 both have steel pins and liners .Shatt and Morgan were still in business When W.W.1 was being fought and brass would have been scarce and expensive.Both knifes could easily be credited to being Queen City Queen from the frames and build material.Niot surprised because Queen City Queen was founded by former Shatt and Morgan Employee s who it is rumored to have been fired for stealing materials to make and sell on the side .

I didn’t spend a lot of time on the Quickut Quest . I have since went back for a second look .I saw a knife or two on esty that I thought resembled clauss pruning knifes on e-bay .come to find out they were paring knifes not the pruning knifes I thought they were .Thanks .

Thanks for the information, I had known about the Schatt & Morgan and Queen history but had not known the possibility of being contracted by Schatt&Morgan. Yes that is true about the brass as was needed for the war. Thank you much!

I should have added may be a shatt and Morgan on my post. I have not found a whole lot if information on the clauss knifes .I have not found any information or positive proof that queen city’ queen contracted clauss knifes. Nor have I found proof that they did not .the whole matter for me is still a on going investigation when you get your queen knife on hand could you post a picture of it side by side. With the clauss.? Thanks .
