Yes you can it speeds up the process. I did on this one.

I’ve been on the scroll saw quite a bit lately cutting out ornaments, I need to get a 1/8 blade for my bandsaw, it’s sure a lot quicker. I’ve made 6 more Grinch ornaments and a crescent moon shaped Santa one. I’ll post some pics when I get him painted.

Thanks for your comments. I have been carving decoys, both full size and mini since 1986. Never really tried to sell them. We have quite a "flock" around the house now. On the full size, I still use my Grandpa's RT Brand draw knife that is over 100 years old. Wow, what an edge you can put on that one.
