Reverse OTF Knife

Post by prober996 »

This little OTF knife works in reverse. You push the gray button at the bottom and the protective sheath around the blade pulls into the handle.

A curious design; all the advantages of a conventional OTF but 40% longer. I presume the advantage is that the knife is rigid and 100% ready as soon as the button is pushed, whereas a conventional OTF blade can be blocked before it fully extends and locks.

The downsides are:
1. You have to press the button on the bottom, which is awkward compared to pressing a button.
2. The sheath doesn't cover the blade automatically. You have to pull it out and hope that you don't slice your fingers.

But it is very cool, in a funky kinda way.
