Kershaw Launch 8 and although it doesn't look it it's a muddy green color.

Another real cool L8 Sam. On my screen it looks blue/black, not a trace of green, but I'm sure it's as you say. So that makes this one and a grey one so far, yes? ::shrug:: 8)

I agree wholeheartedly!

I got some more in yesterday. SMKW had the Congresses on flash sale. Also got a pair of Canoes, a knife pick, and a miniature Bowie.

I can certainly relate to that Dan. David's comments about certain knives have been the sole reason I purchased some of the models I have. The latest is my soon to be posted Russian "Squirrel" knife, that David was quite impressed with when he bought his copy and highly recommended them to me. It took a bit longer to get myself a copy after his recommendation, but once I did I totally understood his being impressed cuz I am too. It's hard to argue with the vast knife experience he has under his belt, so I don't even try, I just listen! ::hmm:: 8)

Guys if your talking about this David you give me way too much credit. It's appreciated but there are so many more here on AAPK that are more knowledgeable and experienced than I. If you weren't talking about me then this post isn't really here. ::facepalm::

I certainly was! You posted photos of a "tater skin" model in your collection not terribly long ago, and they looked so good I vowed I'd get myself one or ten someday. Definitely don't sell yourself short when it comes to photography!

I would like to see Rough Ryder leave their Micarta in its raw, unpolished state. Nothing to complain about otherwise. Fit and finish are good or better, they feel good in the hand, the blades are nice and sharp, and the walk and talk is very crisp.

Wow, what an ego! Thinks just cuz we mention the name "David" that it's all about him, there's plenty of other "David's" on this forum you know, the nerve of some people! ::rotflol:: lol! I REALLY hope you know I'm teasing you David, ::handshake:: and I most definitely was referring to you in my post. Although, when I read your reply about too much credit it planted a seed of doubt that I had the right fella, so I went and searched "Squirrel" knives and found the posts I was talking about, and it is you sir so I had it right all along. Please don't sell yourself short either, your posts are full of useful information, and every time I browse your website it's more interesting than my last visit. Mind you, when I browsed it just now to find your copy of the Rabbit/Squirrel knife to confirm I had the correct person, I couldn't find it anywhere and I went through all your pictures, so it was then that I searched "Squirrel" knives and found our posts. Even though it was very likely a pleasure gaining the knowledge you have and building the collection you have, I'm sure it was also hard work, so I think you should be proud of what you've accomplished and simply accept any well deserved compliments that come your way, cuz they will keep coming far longer than you can deny them my friend! 8)

Saw this Grandaddy Barlow by Camillus on the shallow end of the Bay. The owner described it as having wooden handles, I suppose that is one reason why no one seemed interested in it, so I made the bid and won the knife. It has the 1960-76 longline stamp. Appears to have been in water for a little bit by the etched stains on the blade and rust down in the well on the spring. It cleaned up good enough for a great EDC, took a good edge and has been to the woods a couple of times with me. It has a very pleasant pull along with a half stop that I always enjoy. :)

That's a beautiful restoration Phillip. The difference is like night and day. I have a similar Barlow that I'm fond of, but mine has a spear-point blade. Very nice work sir! 8)

I've got a soft spot for those grand daddy Barlows by Camillus (#9). Ive had a few of them over the years. That one cleaned up nicely. Great save!

Thanks fellers, I enjoy knocking the rust off of old solid built knives and polishing the bolsters, then putting an acceptable edge on them. ::tu::
I've found an old Case and a Robeson grandaddy Barlow, they both have bone handles.

Just arrived this week, Schrade 863. I like the delrin on this one, nice and dark. The engraved shield is a a nice touch as well. Blades are full and it sharpened up easily, good steel in this one.
And yes, this purchase was indeed inspired by the 72 I received recently... ::paranoid::

Congrats, that's a looker, some of the best delrin I have seen. And love the spotty patina, that steel they used was great, I'm right there with you on easy sharpening. ::tu::

Saw this one on Amazon the other day and it came in today.
It's called a JIN Lockback and comes ready to assemble. It has G-10 blade and fiberglass handle and weights
only 45 grams or 1.58 ounces. Advertised as a "boy's first knife." I like the darn thing.
