Thank you Garry. I've had whatever this is for about a week now, and I'm told by others who've had it, it takes about 10 days to run it's course, so not much longer, hopefully. HNY my friend! ::handshake:: 8)

This antique vintage (sellers description, not mine) J.A. Henckels hunting pocket knife arrived today from the deep-end of the Bay! It's 9" oal and 6 1/4" closed, with a 5mm blade that I have to assume is SS because very little description was provided and I know little about steels, once again SS ringed bolsters liners and pins, what I believe to be a fulcrum blade release or perhaps it's classed simply as a lockback, and gnarly stag covers. It's a heavy knife weighing 8 or 9 oz.'s and came adequately sharp. It opens smoothly via n/nic and locks tight with zero play and closes by lifting the lever and pressing forward thus unlocking the tang from the 5mm back spring and sliding closed with a nice snap. I've asked for advise regarding the fit and finish which to me appears quite good, but wanted to know if I should make certain minor adjustments, and got great response from Mark and Bill. I obviously don't know much about older knives or types of steel hence my assumptions, I just know I liked it when I saw it. Not an inexpensive knife, but IMHO worth it! 8)

Nice pick-ups, Jim and Mark! ::tu::

Technically, this wasn't a mail call, as they were delivered by FedEx. But they did arrive today. The one with the master blade open is in my pocket, and it's quite the pocketful!

Great knives everyone.
Jim that Winchester advertising knife is really cool! Double sided with what looks to me like my old model 94 30/30 on one side! Great find, I will have to keep my eyes open for one of those.
My mail call today yielded me this cool old Camillus 72 !

MadinUSA,
Do you have any history on the Imperial with the Winchester advertising?
I've not seen that knife before, and it is very interesting.

Sorry, Treefarmer, I don’t

I bought it from Matt Sanders (Sanders Knives)… a seller here on AAPK

Here’s what was advertised

Imperial Prov. RI "Winchester-Western Jack Knife - Shell Handles - No Cracks - Snaps Open and Shut - No Wobble - Iron Bolsters and Liners - Nice Overall Used Condition - Approx. 3 1/4 inches closed.

Maybe Matt knows more?

Saw this Richards of Sheffield - Boy's Knife (RODEO Canada) floating around the Bay & just couldn't pass it up because of the original blister. ::dang:: ::facepalm:: I must say, I find it very cool in the blister. I also like the bail on it. ::super_happy:: And now, I don't know what to do with it. ::doh::

Too nice to remove it from the blister to put it in my showcase. And I have no showcase big enough for it with the blister. ::doh::

If anyone is interested in it maybe we can work out a trade? ::shrug:: And if not..., I guess I'll need to get a bigger showcase. ::hmm:: Or I could frame it and hang it on the wall. ::hmm:: Not a bad idea. ::hmm::
We'll see. Maybe someone is interested in it, if not I'll have to give it some thought. ::hmm::

Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: :D
