Made it to Pensacola yet again. First time here since 2016, gorgeous weather today in the 70°s. 10 days ago we were in 8° weather in Cumberland, hard to believe. We did our 4.5 mile coffee walk this morning, the fog was burning off. Case/Carhartt knife pictured on the Gulf Breeze to Pensacola Beach fishing pier.
Thanks Rider!! I was stationed at Corry Station in Pensacola when I was in the Navy!! I love Pensacola! Enjoy your visit!! :D Thanks for the pictures. I take my Case sowbelly with me on all trips as well. Great choice of your old friend!!

Thank you, Sir! ::handshake:: I posted some beach pictures in the Outdoorsman thread.

Nice carries, y'all! ::tu:: Garry, what size is the Opinel (I can tell it's a No. 6 or larger), and what is the handle material?

My pockets are a little full today. From left to right: Rough Ryder "Blue Mule" small toothpick, Victorinox Executive (which rides on a neck lanyard for now), Opinel No. 6, Victorinox Camper, Leatherman Freestyle, and Latshaw Pocket Wrench II.

Dan, how do like the green synthetic handle on the Opinel No. 6? I have several older ones all wooden handles and I like the look of the new handles.

Do you have any photos of the Waterman with the blades open? It looks similar to a couple I picked a little while ago. ::hmm::

A Buck 301. ... I got a little surprise taking this picture today... ::skeptic::

::uc:: I turned around to put the knife in the shade to take a picture of the maker's mark. I heard a noise in the brush ::paranoid:: and turned to find some new desert "friends" ::paranoid:: You can see the clay head in the back ground and how close the nearest ::skeptic:: Javelina is to me from my shadow in the picture. There were at least 6 of them poking around.

Like me ::hmm:: they must like Buck knives... ::hmm::

Do they cause you any issues? Or do they just stop by to say hi?

I just back away and give them space. I consider them "neighbors" so to speak. However, they have sharp tusk like teeth and can cause serious damage. Last year there were a few attacks in my county by them on some hikers and I know someone who ended up falling down trying to get away from them and was attacked and then helped by another hiker who happened by. I worry more out my dog, he already had a tussle with them and ended up at the vet's with a BUNCH of stiches.

You are welcome ::handshake:: my buddies GSP hunting dog was in some thick brush looking for quail and was attacked by a Javelina and got cut up and the vet bill was $1500. So I always try to be aware of them when outside.

But I do wonder if those tusks would make good knife handles!
