Help! Umbrella stamp?

Post by nmikash »

Hello all. I recently picked up this knife in a small group. It has wooden scales, and measures about 4" closed. The knife has no visible stamp on the tang, but the blade is stamped with an umbrella and then 2 words that I cannot completely make out. I it looks like PARAP.... over AI?PR?? While its not the prettiest knife I've come across it is well made and snaps like a bear trap.
If you can help me out with any guesses or info I'd appreciate it.
Thanks...Nick

Hi. I found some French knives with an umbrella stamped on the blade. I don't know if it is the same but it may be a start. Have you found anything since your posting? :) s-k

Thanks for the reply S-K. I checked out the link and the stamp looks about right, I was unable to find anything close.
