Well I’ve been on here for I think over a year. And I think I’ve let my supporting status expire, which I just sent a message to correct.
I find myself needing some advice and found this ‘tailor fit’ forum for it.
I collect several types as most of you. And I had a streak of bad luck and I don’t know which route to take. I was sorting, looking at, some Girl Scout knives I’ve just started collecting. And thought I was being pretty careful. Sitting at a table I often use for such in my ‘knife room’.
As I was checking out a D Divine. Something caught my attention. Startling me a second. And I dropped it probably only a foot maybe onto the hard wooden table. The blade was maybe 1/4 - 1/3 open. And the darn thing snapped like a potato chip. I’ll try attaching a pic if I can remember.
Question. More practical to just sell it off for parts? Or try to find a Divine blade and have it repaired?
I imagine an original blade would be hard to find and I’d be throwing good money after bad.
But if I took the other option. Do many cutlers buy knives as such for parts? If so where to look.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Dwight Divine GS knife help
And of course after I posted this. I saw the Knife Mechanics Parts forum. Duh.
But I’ll wait to hear what y’all think the best option would be. Trust me. I wouldn’t try to get a ton off the knife for parts if it went that way. But the thought of chunking it is more than I can bear. Lol.

Re: Dwight Divine GS knife help
Depending how much you like the knife you might wait to see if you can find a replacement blade. I have some that had broken blades, a missing or broken handle cover that I eventually found a donor knife from which to salvage the needed part. Someone here may have what you need, but may take a while before they see your post and respond. Or you might set yourself an alert on ebay and find one eventually.
Of course, I also have a couple of rare ones I’m still looking for.

Re: Dwight Divine GS knife help
Thanks for the advice Ken.
I’ll probably look a little while but unless i just sure luck out on one I may just sell it to somebody that could use MY parts.
I’m not attached to it. And actually have a couple others in better shape. I was just curious what the ‘practical’ solutions might be
Appreciate it!
