Case XX 6265 frame question.

I have two Case XX USA 6265 knives and they have 2 different frames. Is one style uncommon in this time frame? Thanks for any input!

According to Knifeaholic's book, the frame change came about in the mid-1960s. That was when the raised hump on the front bolster was eliminated over a period of time.

Treefarmer told you right. The top knife in your picture has what they call the "XX Frame." Starting in 1965, Case changed the 65 Folding Hunter frame to the modern version seen on the lower knife in your picture. I have a CASE XX USA (1965 - 1969) Folding Hunter that has the "XX Frame" and I have others with the modern frame. It is generally thought that if you have a CASE XX USA Folding Hunter with the "XX Frame" it was probably made in 1965, as later years had the more rounded modern frame.
