You earned it Tim!!!!

Received this MTech in yesterdays mail. Very well made. I don't care for thumb-studs but the knife redeems it's self with a flipper protrusion on the bottom of the blade like the Kershaw Leek although it's not spring assisted like the Kershaw. Very smooth opening & well built. I'm totally satisfied.
This is another very cool MTech Jerry, if you don't mind me asking, where are you finding them? ::shrug:: The MTechs from way back that I have are nothing like these newer models, I like em'! Thx! 8)

This is another from a recent order from Jamie, and it's a pretty cool addition to my knives! A 6" oal Rough Rider RRR017 Barlow slip-joint with a D2 spear-point blade and tan linen micarta covers! It's much smaller than the online pictures indicate, but still way cool! 8)

Nice looking RRR Barlow, Marco. Although I kinda hate to say it, I have to admit that I am impressed with the Rough Ryder Reserve knives I own. My only complaint is their weight...they're built like a tank and have a similar heft (wouldn't want to fall overboard with one of those in my pocket ::smirk::)

Lately I've been on a bit of a Spyderco kick. I've always liked Spydercos, but just recently I've really fallen in love with the Delica 4 model. At 4¼" it's about 1" bigger than I normally prefer for EDC, but it's also super light so it doesn't feel like a big knife in my pocket. I also like the back lock, the multi-positional pocket clip, the different blade steels and grind options (Wharncliffe, leaf, straight edge or part-serrated) and the signature Spydie Hole for opening (I don't have strong fingernails and hate having to use an opening tool to deploy the blade). I also appreciate the many aftermarket handle/hardware options available and the screw-on construction that allows them to be changed easily. The made-in-USA models are a bit pricey, to be sure, but I guess that's the cost of supporting USA manufacturing. Although, to be honest, most of my Spydercos were made in either Japan or Taiwan and they're also pretty pricey. (As one would expect, most of the China-made models are much less expensive---except for the discontinued Kiwi 3 which for some reason is hugely popular and unusually pricey on the secondary market).

Here's the latest addition to my Spydie pile:

Outstanding knives folks!!!

Here are a couple I got in the mail today.
An E.C. Simmons Whittler and an Ironhorse Texas Jack. It's more like a Marbles Cattle Knife.

It's exactly 3 1/2" closed Ken. To you that might be a normal size, but since I like my knives big and heavy it seems quite small to me. Very nice though! 8)

Thanks buddy! I've had my new knife you sent beside me providing much "comfort" ever since it arrived, I just love it, it's so BIG! I too am impressed with the R/R RRR series, it won't surprise me if I buy more. After all the big knives I handle, that R/R Barlow almost disappears in my hand, but man is it well made. Please don't take offence my friend, but I'm afraid I can't find 2 things I like about your new Spydie, the 1 thing I like is the color! But as we previously discussed, we have very different tastes in what we like about our knives so it's all good! ::handshake:: 8)

Really? ::uc:: What about the SINGLE WHARNCLIFFE BLADE???!!! ::mdm:: (I thought you preferred that ::undecided:: )
It's all good, Marco, it would be a pretty boring site (and world, for that matter) if we all liked exactly the same things. ::handshake::

You got that right buddy! I knew you'd understand what I meant, I put the disclaimer in just in case you were feeling sensitive or anything! lol! The reason I didn't include the Wharnie blade, which I do prefer you're right, is the Spydie hole, the one feature I dislike the most on ANY knife! Great color though! lol! 8)

Gerber EZ OUT Jr.

I had the bigger one with the skeletonized blade, and gave it away. I figured the smaller one would be a great replacement for my retired Magnum LST Jr., and I bought this one used for $5. It is only 3 1/8" closed, which is pretty good for light around the house stuff.

It was very dirty, had a slightly chipped blade, and a loose clip. The chipped blade was easily handled on a diamond stone, and brought to decent sharpness on a soft Arkansas stone. There is still dirt ground into the handle that would not come out even with super heavy-duty ultra-strength Dawn. Putting as much force as I could muster on a 5/16 ignition wrench didn't help the loose clip much. My EZ OUT Skeleton was in really bad shape, and Gerber gave me a new one that I gifted (and regret doing so, it was a featherweight despite being a big 4" closed knife). I suspect they'd do the same, but I don't feel it's right.

The EZ OUT is a fairly inexpensive knife, selling for around $30. I will likely pick up a new one, and keep this one as a work knife.

You are correct, I do like it. As I said before, I can't help but be impressed with the build quality of the RR Reserve line. I just wish they weren't so darn heavy. ::undecided:: Anyway, Jamie has a different model in his store that I'm watching and trying to decide if I should pull the trigger.

Go ahead and pull the trigger buddy, we're not getting any younger, so I figure we should enjoy the things we like NOW, while we're still able to use the washroom by ourselves! They're really not that expensive, and they'll definitely look good in your collection, as well as I'm sure you'll get use to the weight! Pull, pull, pull while you still can, I say! lol! 8)

These are 4 "bombs" Jamie dropped on me in the recent order I've been posting about! The 1st is a tiny Gerber folder which I'm gonna call, the "Chunky-Monkey" cuz that's what it looks like to me, the 2nd is a Rough Rider toothpick with white fluted covers, the 3rd is a Cold Steel "Counter*Tac II" dual-edged dagger that is flat on the rear side and came with a locking sheath, and 4th is a tactical pen that will come in very handy around the house! I ordered 5 knives and he sends 9, standard procedure for my bud! Thanks Jamie! ::handshake:: 8)

Another Mini Trapper to add to Mini-T Mountain. This is a Queen #51T with wood handle (Zebra wood, I think) bearing the 2002-2017 tang stamp which would've been during Queen Cutlery Company's final years. This particular knife is built like the Queen knives of earlier years, however, in that the fit and finish is tight & precise, all transitions smooth & flush and both blades have excellent walk and talk with nice crisp opening and closing snap. 3½" Closed

Page full of nice scores everyone, great seeing what is up with others. Here's the latest here, a BK-16 fixed with micarta aftermarket scales to replace the slick, plastic, ugly ones that came on. And I didn't like the rough black coating that came on it so I stripped that off and gave the 16 a whole new look. Turned out pretty well. Thanks for looking.

Mark, it does my heart good to see a Barlow in your hand! ::tu::

I picked up this Camillus pair a while back. 72 has a couple pin cracks, so it will be a nice little user. The 716 has some minor dings in the covers, but the blades don’t appear to have ever cut anything. Might choose to keep that one nice, but I decided to take them both for a walk today.

Love that Zebra wood Q. Nice looking knife and I bet it’s warm in the hand.

Nice job on the recover Iman.

Willie those Camillus knives are superb. I like the lock back on the mountain man trapper.
