Phillip, gun season started this past Saturday and runs for 9 days. It's a really busy work week for me though, and I won't be able to get back out unfortunately.treefarmer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 3:33 am Mike,
I need to get one of those “deer crossing” signs and put it down in the woods by my shooting house. How long does it take for the deer to start using it? Maybe a little corn would get their attention and they would notice the sign.![]()

Sorry you didn’t get one with the bow. When is your gun season?
Treefarmer
We have that sign up partway down the driveway leading to our cabin, I thought it was kinda ironic as I has not been seeing much deer actvity....Apparently the bucks didn't get the memo that they were supposed to be leaping gracefully through the woods in that area.

Re: Outdoorsman Thread
When I was a kid, I always dreamed about going out on Thanksgiving Day morning and bagging a wild turkey for the day's dinner. The problem is, I don't think Maryland let's one hunt turkeys on Thanksgiving Day (I could be totally wrong on this), and usually when I happen to see a wild turkey, it's not anywhere near Thanksgiving.
Any turkey hunters here?

I only hunt them with my camera phone, I don't care to eat the the store bought ones don't figure the wild would be much better.
Good to see you posting QS seems you've took a little hiatus like me. Hope your health is good, have a wonderful holiday.

Oh! What did he get? Quail hunting is my first love. That’s all we did growing up, back when there were still some quail.
Dad always liked to hunt an English Pointer and an English Setter together. Me, I was always partial to the setters myself. And some good droppers we had over the years (pointer and setter crossed).
We need pics and details man!

Treefarmer pointed out to me this morning that I had not posted in a while. I went back through my iPhone and pulled out a selection of pictures from the last year. I fish far more than I hunt anymore (living right on the coast fishing is out the front door and easy to do whether surf, pier, marsh, rivers, etc.). Hunting is a two hour drive back to my old lease (that used to be 30 minutes away) so I just don't go as much, but I stay a couple days. Here's a few pictures - I still visit and look at your pictures. OH

Cool pictures, OH.

Taking Gil Hibben for a hike today. Tomorrow there will be too much lead slinging in the woods of the WMD.
