That seems to have done the trick: Baking Soda + Sun + Time = Smell Elimination. I also gave it several more scrub downs with Dawn and a stiff nylon-bristle brush. To be completely honest, a tiny whiff of the cologne odor is still slightly detectible, but it has been diminished enough that it's no longer strong enough to gag a maggot as it was before. I suspect the remaining bit of scent will eventually wear off as I carry & use the knife. A good oiling of the pivot with Tuf-Glide also helped to cover the remaining scent.
