Thanks,
The Oar has been on my list for a while but they don’t come up real often so I was glad to get one. The bombs were just some icing for the cake!

Another surprise package, this time from Olde Cutler. He sent me this awesome hand-carved decoy and turned pens. I may have to take up duck hunting now! The pens are great, they'll get some use for sure! Well done, sir! Thanks!

Wanted to show off my new Buck knife set here because this beautiful leather sheath was gifted to me from our kind and generous member Railsplitter (Rick). I had asked him if Buck made a sheath for the Buck 55 and he said he didn't believe that they made one specifically for the 55 but that they did make one for the 501 & 503 sized Buck knives. He looked around his stuff and found one & offered to send it to me if I'd just cover the cost of postage. What a cool birthday gift & a great show of generosity! I am very happy to own this set and have already slapped it on my hip. ::super_happy::

Thanks Buddy! ::handshake:: I appreciate it very much! ::nod:: ::super_happy::

RIGHT ON!!! ::tu:: Very cool knife & sheath 8). It's hard to go wrong with a beautiful Buck like that and with the belt sheath, I suspect it will become a permanent fixture on your belt.
Congratulations, Tom, that's a great knife and the belt sheath makes it perfect for EDC ::nod::.

Well done, Rick...most generous of you. GREAT BOMB and GREAT TARGET! :D

Yep! Permanent fixture! ::nod:: Only thing I might change is, I'll be on the lookout for a 501 & a 503 that I can carry in the sheath as well. Hope I can find them in a good used condition to save a few € compared to buying them new. ::nod:: Might take me a while to find them but it will happen some day. ::nod:: ::tu:: ::super_happy::

Thanks for the kind words, guys and thanks for posting those pics, Tom. I've been looking forward to seeing those.

One thing that I've noticed and like about Buck is that they tend to lean towards snap closures on their sheaths. That's pretty common on a leather sheath but even their nylon sheaths have snap closures. If you look around online for nylon sheaths, you will find that the vast majority of them have Velcro closures. Buck's use of snap closures is confirmation that they want the customer to have a quality product that will stand the test of time.

That is a very fine knife, Tom. She's a real beauty!

Thanks for the compliment Rick! ::handshake:: The sheath makes it even nicer. ::nod:: I also took notice of the snap & found it impressive that both the leather & the snap have "BUCK" on them. One of the things they hammered into us in basic training was "Paying attention to detail". I guess that had to do with working with land mines & explosives. Anyways, it kind of got stuck in my mind so I do take notice of smaller "details" like that snap. ::nod:: ::tu:: :D

I got the ultimate bomb from Q. The October knife giveaway was the Arum and Q included several other knives in the box. A Case mini trapper, a Queen reverse peanut, a Stanley mini trapper, a Guide Series stag lockback, a Tac Force tactical, an Old Timer bottle opener, an Hawaii keychain and several stickers. The lanyard on the Arum has an ivory carved skull that was done by Ivoryman. Thank you Q. Mahalo

Have two Bombs to report about today. ::nod::

First off, one that happened months ago.

Back in the spring time a beautiful Case Stockman with a Tractor Supply shield came up for sale on the AAPK. I have wanted one of them ever since I started collecting knives so I asked my wife if I could go ahead & buy it for my 50th Birthday this Nov.

Long story short, two knives showed up. My Case & a gorgeous RR Sow Belly Stockman with beautiful brown bone handles, a perfect fit & finish & another cool shield. (Not sure what ya call this shield form.) ::hmm:: What an awesome Birthday Bomb from Mark-SSK! ::nod:: Thank you veeeeeery much Mark! ::handshake:: This is my first Sow Belly Stockman & I must say the pattern is very cool! I should EDC this one but it's such a beauty, it's going in my showcase. At least for a while. ::nod:: Maybe I'll EDC it sometime down the line but for a while I'll just enjoy looking at. ::super_happy::

Thanks Buddy! ::handshake:: I appreciate your generosity! ::nod:: ::groove::

Next up, my most recent Bomb. Hit me on Friday. ::tu:: A beautiful card full of knife stickers. ::groove:: ::super_happy::
I especially like the Veterans Day sticker the changes colors depending on how the light hits it. Very cool! ::super_happy:: Thank you Mr. Bomber! ::handshake:: You really caught me off gard! I know exactly where I will use them. ::nod:: ::super_happy::

I didn't mention a name. Wanted to see if anyone can guess who the Bomber was by looking at the card.

Yep! ::nod:: Q ::nod:: :lol:

I Love the bones on it! It's really nice! ::nod::

And the RR is really well made too. Best RR I have ever seen till now. Good snap to it too. ::nod:: Put them both in my showcase for now. The RR will be what I consider a "Knife Junkie's Quick Fix". Next time I need to have something new but I'm broke, I'll add It to my EDC rotation for a Quick Fix. Works well for me.

First time visiting this thread for me, and I couldn't have started with a nicer "Bomb" knife! Prior to posting this I read back to some of the previous comments, and it seems that ~Q~ has been the dropper of a number of "bombs" to fellow members lately, which brings me to the reason for my visit, he "BOMBED" me too! This beautiful Schatt & Morgan slip-joint arrived today, and I must say, I am impressed! Very nice Wharn/sheepfoot blade along with beautiful Rosewood covers! It opens with a firm pull and closes with a half-stop and very strong detent. A very thoughtful note was included in the package. Thank you so much for your generosity buddy, I love my new knife! ::handshake:: 8)
