Oregon Rocks!

The show was super! Lots of nice people, and of course knives. Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this, but my business got way backed up, and I'm still trying to sort it out for my customers!
Anyhoo, knives first;
I didn't spend as much as last year, but I found some nice Schrades.
A nice Lobster, a Hawbaker Muskrat, and a Doctor's knife. The scanner doesn't do the Hawbaker etch justice. The Dr. knife has a little crack, but is very rare I'm told!
The patina-ed 883 is a Mint knife in wolf's clothing!!
20 bucks at a local Eugene antique store before the show!!

Seriously it was great to see so many AAPK members at the show. There must have been close to a dozen, maybe more.
We may have to get together next year for dinner one evening.
My wife & I found an excellent little Texas style barbecue restaurant on our way home Saturday.
Lots of great food for very reasonable prices. I think we may drive down there for lunch today!

Got this little beauty at the show from a good buddy, thanks Charlie. New York knife company little pearl that has never been used.

I also have a great story to tell about my Oregon trip. Charlie you are going to love this. I shipped my knives and other things to the hotel I stayed at before I got there and all worked out well. I than had UPS pick up the box for the return trip with knives and books from the show in it. I left Sunday after the show and the box was picked up Monday. I had it shipped to my job since I thought it would beat me home because I stopped in Phoenix to visit family before coming home. Well I beat the box home and got it the next Monday at work. I looked to box over and it looked a bit beat up with some patch work done on it. I opened it when I got home and there were a few knives missing and a small box that had a knife handle and an old Union Cutlery tang stamp in it. I thought damn this stinks. I emailed UPS and got a response that there was nothing they could do. Here comes the good part. The man that runs the kitchen in the school where I work came to my office on Tuesday holding something in his hand. It was the small box that was missing from the box I had shipped!!!! Inside of it was the missing knives and the handle, the tang stamp was not there. He got the box from inside a box of coffee he had shipped to the school by UPS. How that little box got in his is a mystery that UPS is trying now to figure out. They are going to either find the tang stamp or pay me for it.

One of the missing knives is the one I am posting here that I got from Charlie. I am so glad that I got this beauty back.
Crazy things happen for sure.

I saw Ray's boxed whittler; it sure is a nice package, in its original shipping materials! And thanks for the Doctor's knife Ray!
Poor Ray had to listen to me whine and plead about that knife! In the end, I paid him anyway!
