Re: English Jacks show yours
I have gone through the entire thread again. A lot of thoroughbreds, a number of which speak well for the lesser-known manufactories from which they were produced.

Re: English Jacks show yours
I've always held a very narrow opinion of what constitutes a English jack. To me it is a knife over 4 1/2 inches with a narrow handle that tapers toward the blade, no pig stickers , no toothpicks, no swing guards just a big old jack knife. Here are 5 that I think qualify.

Here’s a D.S & K. Boston . Dame Stoddard & Kendall was a sporting goods chain out of Boston . Very well built ,no blade wobble when open and is 4 1/2 inches closed.
And a 4 Line Camillus that’s in excellent condition with Salesman ink on the main . 4 1/2 inches closed.

That is one good looker! The Wilbert seems to be getting all the attention, but that Carrier is no slouch either. I don't think that I have seen (in person) a Cronk and Carrier, or one with just the Carrier stamp.

Nobody has mentioned that the Carrier is pearl. All the Carriers I've had were stamped like this one.
