Thanks for the compliment Squach, appreciate that. What is the handle material of that Sharpfinger? Looks cool. I really like the splotchy look. Looks like they fit the hand so well too. Great pics as always.

Thanks Iman. I'm not sure what the handle scales are made of but they are some kind of Micarta. I think Jamie said they were burlap but I don't see any weave pattern like most burlap Micarta. The layers are black, tan, and brown. It almost looks like it's paper based like Richlite.

I think that they are paper Micarta but the other I got at time I picked that one up has Burlap on it, maybe we need to ask Jeff…LOL

Whatever it is, it makes a good lookin' handle.

The McBee is small. It has a 1 1/2" blade, but I find it to be very useful... opening chip bags, trimming strings, etc. and it does not intimidate any non-knife people in the cafe . I own 2 McBees. Yes, those are ceramic clay beads in the background. I made them a few years ago and never used them for anything. Thanks for commenting Ivoryman

Wow, that is small. Funny that you mention intimidating "non-knife" people. At the end of my career I found myself working in an office environment about half the time. When I pulled out my Sodbuster Jr. to cut up an avocado in the break room a female coworker said she thought that it was a rather large knife to carry in the work place. As she said this she was also uneasily eying the sheath on my belt. I shrugged her off and went on with my lunch. A few days later I was walking past her office and she asked me if I could give her a hand. She had gotten a new computer desk and was having trouble assembling it. She had nothing but a straight screwdriver to accomplish the assembly with. I looked at the parts on the floor and reached for the sheath on my belt. She watched apprehensively as I pulled out my Gerber multi-tool. 15 minutes later I had her desk assembled and functioning properly. She thanked me and commented "well, at least that isn't a knife". Then I showed her the blade it contained and said "like many things we use every day, a knife is a tool first and a weapon if necessary". She looked thoughtful and thanked me again. Christmas of that year I purchased one of those 40 or 50 knife buckets from SMKW (they were 3" assorted color plastic handled lock-back cheapos) and gave them to my coworkers as desk knives. I figured a little desk knife would last longer and be more useful than a card. I gave her a pink one. A couple of years later when I retired she was still using it at her desk to open envelopes and such. It's hard to know what kind of stereotypes people carry around in their heads.

Finally replacing a dim, old, ugly square box of florescent kitchen lights from the sixties or seventies with these black and gold ones. Re-doing the cabinets and removing a pocket door. Had to patch some big holes and do some mudding and texturing. The little sheep foot on the Schrade 893 was perfect for opening the bucket of mud.
