I've been instructed...
to come down here and make myself known. With pleasure...I'm a North Carolinian, a hiker, fisherman and sailor. I somehow got involved in this knife hobby when I realized that all my kitchen knives were dull, and so were all my friends' (their kitchen knives, I mean, not themselves). So I did a little research on the web and found out about sharpening jigs and diamond stones and all that good stuff, and got my kitchen knives sharp. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was perusing the back pages of AAPK and getting more intrigued by the minute. Next I dug around and found the old knife that one belonged to my grandfather - once I cleaned it up, I could faintly make out John Primble, Belknap, etc and from my reading on AAPK I already knew all about the history of Belknap hardware and all their house brands, of which John Primble was one. And at that point I was hooked - what more can I say? Just that I already owe a huge debt of gratitude for the friendly, courteous and generous commentary on the AAPK boards and look forward to lots more of it in the future.

Re: I've been instructed...
trail so you have been bitten by that knife bug too.
This makes you an knifeahaulick (spelling?)
We here at AAPK have a fix on that. So come back and jump in we would like to hear from you more.
philco just likes being a leader and you made him very happy....
You now have a new friend.
Perhaps we should call him Dr. Philco ????

Hey there trail.......
Welcome to AAPK.... yes these ARE quite a nice bunch of knife-knutts
However,,you got out light ......with NO newbie initiation ritual
I had to post a pic of one of my knives to consumate the membership.
Understadably so..... that keeps those pesky banjo collectors
from impersonating a TRUE knife-knutt....

Welcome to a really neat place. I got away from knives for about 25 years, but I came back to the sharp side..
