Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
Thank you Ivoryman,
Won an auction for a very nice early Schrade Walden 804 whittler, surprisingly I was the only bidder. Looks to have had little use, still has some Everlastingly Sharp etch remaining, sat unused in a pocket slip for some time. I would think this one is late 1940's, before Schrade started stamping pattern number on tang.

Pulled this old Cut Co. jack out today for a little wipe down. Well uses, but still snappy and solid.

I’m sure I have a couple packed away , this one was handy , it’s marked SD&G but it’s obviously a Schrade made knife .

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
VERY cool...
I see that the main blade is a sheep's foot blade. I had in my mind that the main blade might have been a spear point blade like a lot of the older knives.
Thanks for posting up your knife! It will give me some guidance for my restoration work on mine!

Most of these early Boy Scout easy openers came with a sheep foot master blade .

Schrade Cut Co stainless steel easy open jack, back of blades marked SS and interestingly enough the spring has a small S also. Light Stainless Steel etch on main blade.

Re: What is Your Latest Old Schrade?
Well....
I am glad to be able to add another 2OT to my collection.
The seller had a higher price on it than I wanted to pay but (after I was NICE when I made my offer) the seller accepted my offer.
The seller told me a few "knife people" had been really mean to her (I can just imagine things that were said....
). Then I had to ask myself....WHY?
I told her all the knife people I hang out with are nice people.
Anyway..... here it is....
There is an indicator on this knife that suggests how (or maybe...when) the "coining" was applied to the liners. Notice how the coining extends over slightly on to the bolster.
INTERESTING!!!
SO there ya are.... my latest Old Schrade.
