Those are excellent, Don! Lockback whittlers are one of my favorite patterns.

I love the cell colors F'NR came up with but the outgassing issues can be devastating. I just stick to bone, stag and pearl now.

I agree, the cells are definitely eye candy but at what cost down the road, although, I would buy if the price is right; can't go wrong with pearl and stag though.

This one began life clad in celluloid but I had it re-handled when it started showing signs of outgassing. Love the knife--a single Wharncliffe Congress pattern. Love it even more with the Mammoth Ivory covers installed by BIGHEAD.

I only have these two left. Most of the others were showing signs of out-gassing so away they went. They are nice knives , it's to bad so many were made with celluloid.

I have not bought a new Rooster for a while. Here are a couple of mine: I may have posted these photos in the past.

Those are two nice ones. I still have a few that are handled in celluloid. The only problem I have encountered, so far, is the Waterfall handled Canittler. I do keep a close watch on the others.

Nice Roosters! I haven't bought any new ones lately. Tje prices are a bit out of my retirement budget.

I know this is an old thread that I tried to resurrect, but I still enjoy seeing what other collectors might have acquired "back in the day".

The Kentuckian 053

This is my latest acquisition. It was a gift from a fellow collector who was downsizing. The knife originally belonged to the Fight’n Rooster dealer in our hometown, who had showed me the knife when he received it. At his passing, the knife went to his father. The father gifted it to the collector who had helped get the knife business started, and was the shop’s premier customer. Several years later, that collector and I were in Physical Therapy on the same days of the week. He brought the knife to PT one day and told me he wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate the knife and not just try to make a profit on it.I was left speechless for a few moments.

Great knife, and a great story. I have only a few Roosters, myself. In retrospect, I wish I had bought a few more back when the prices were lower.
