Celluloids-eye candy

I can't read the stamp, but if it is IKCO inside the diamond, it is an Imperial. IKCO stands for Imperial Knife COmpany. Definitely looks like an Imperial.

This one was a candy stripe celluloid that I had redone in acrylic. It was out-gassing. Someone had asked how to tell the difference. I post this one so you can see an acrylic.

QTCut5, that is a beautiful Fighting Rooster. I also believe that it is beginning to outgas.
Sit it in a shelf away from other knives if you can until you have it rehandled. It is a shame, but will be even worse if it destroys the whole knife.

I really like this single Wharncliffe Congress pattern (similar to a GEC #62 Whip, IMO) and didn't want it to corrode beyond repair. Since I'm too lazy to do everything required to properly care for and maintain celluloid knives, as well as having limited storage space for separating celluloid knives from the rest of my collection, I chose the other option and had it re-handled.

Here is my Fight'n Rooster before and after BIGHEAD worked his mod magic on it with some of his signature Mammoth Ivory covers. (I realize that with the celluloid replaced, technically it no longer qualifies for this thread, but I thought you might like to see the transformation. ) It's kind of a shame because the celluloid had a certain "glow" that seemed to emanate from within, but I really love Ivory and now I don't have to worry about the knife self-destructing.

If you are going to have a post that no longer "qualifies for this thread", then THAT'S the way to do it!
It has a totally different look, but is gorgeous Before and After! Bighead certainly worked magic on that one!

Beautiful work from Bighead, ~Q~! It's a shame the original covers were celluloid cuz they're extremely "warm" in appearance, but there's no denying the new covers are spectacular! Could we please see a shot with the blade deployed? Thx!

I love that Camco Jack! I used to have one exactly like it, and I gave it to my younger brother for his birthday a couple of years ago.
The handles might not be as pretty a celluloid as some, but still unique and an enjoyable knife.
