I tried my best to see if someone had already covered this topic, but haven't had any luck.
I have a larger KaBar folder (Trapper style?) with DB stamped on one of the front bolsters. Can anybody tell me what that stamp represents? I've included some photos and hopes that it might help.
I would also appreciate any other information on when this knife might have been made. In my search it looks like it was 1950 to 1960, but I see similar knives from that era without the star logo on the tang.
Thank you for your time!
Brian

Re: Question on KaBar Folder with DB stamp
The DB appears to have been done with a metal stamp set, most likely the owner’s initials.

Re: Question on KaBar Folder with DB stamp
No expert but I am confident the "DB" on the bolster was done by a user, not Kabar. The tang stamp shown as been attributed to the 1950's to 60's as indicated in a chart that can be found on this site. However, the charts accuracy has been called into question by knowledgeable members in some cases. Nice old knife with great looking stag!

Re: Question on KaBar Folder with DB stamp
Thank you very much for the additional knowledge! I had a friend who thought the DB stamp was something that he remembered, but I just couldn't find anything on it to know for sure. Until proven otherwise, I will consider those to be the owners personal marking
Be well,
