Here's my latest acquisition. While trying to focus on German knives I couldn't pass this one up. Remarkably full blade but kinda scratched up. But all original, never fooled with, can almost smell the history
No matter what your taste you can't help but love these antique case.
A fine example of a knife from Case's old Bank Street plant. I got the opportunity to go into that building (now a shop for an HvAC contractor) when I was doing research at Case last fall.
Those iron bolsters add a lot of character to the knives made back then since the bolsters develop a patina like the blades do.

Nice Find MM I have a WR Tooth pick in my collection. Mine is a 61095......
Lets make this a thread for knives made at the Bank ST. Case factory. If I'm remembering my history correctly that would be Case knives manufactured before about 1929. Any more Bank Street beauties?????

Owd Wullie that hobo works extra good ....Now for the second part of your question--I still think that much of the evidence as to when certain tang stamps were used is on the knives themselves and in old Company documents not in books. Despite a recent change in Sargents book, I still say the best evidence shows that the "Son" stamp was used c1902-1904 and the "Case & Sons" stamp c.1905-1920. Now here's another Bank St. beauty

Kind of reminds me of STAR WARS, even though it was around a LONG time before any body other than H G WELLS thought about visiting beyond the earth.
It is fascinating.
Thanks for the info on the "& SON" stamp.
