What a great acquisition! I love the built-in provenance that the engraving provides. We often discuss how we wish these old knives could talk - well, yours tells at least part of it's story right on the blade!

Dennis, I agree with Phil .It's a tribute to your collecting prowess. While you're out there in places I don't go, please keep me in mind if you see any farmers jacks .

I just found out that the maker, silversmith George Unite, has an entry in Wikipedia:
