Case Trapper question-

I bought this on an auction and I have a couple questions- one thing it is stamped 6254 and looks like Stag. The other question is that is has a small c with a circle near the 6254. I haven’t seen this before and wondered what it stands for Any input is appreciated.

Probably will have a more experienced Case person jump in here soon, but my guess is it's a Case Collectors club (Cc ) knife for the Texas Knife Collectors Association, low production run, looks like #2 .... great looking stag!

Great question... this is where someone else might be able to help out, as I can't say why it's numbered that way on your knife

Looks like a special edition cobbled build! Nice knife though! Possibly a knife built from parts? Never saw one with a tang stamp on both blades, just saying could be fake! ftd

NOt unusual to see a mismatched blade. I have seen many come out of a box (new from factory) and the box labeled one year and the blade be another.

I’ve seen that same “c within a C” question somewhere here previously, but can’t find the thread. IIRC it’s the stamp of an aftermarket modifier, not something done by Case, and it is a mod (blade etch, serial numbers, possibly covers) done aftermarket. Probably was sold originally with box and paperwork documents accordingly. If I find the thread I will return here to post the link. Maybe someone who knows will post the information here.

Then again, I could be having a “senior moment”…………………

There is a thread on here somewhere explaining those Cs.
I can't find it and I don't remember what they represent.

Case had so many requests for limited run club knives with special handles that rather than make short runs of blades with the correct pattern # stamp, they took standard product 6254 blades and put them into knives with the stag, pearl, etc handles. Yes the CC was intended to signify a special non standard run,
