I got you beat by a year - my family has been in Texas since 1845 - back when it was a Republic. To hear our Gov. talk, we may be headed that direction again.

My grandmother (from Tahoka) called the trunk a "turtle", and she called the tires "casins"

And her sister, my great-aunt, dipped snuff - W.E. Garrett powdered snuff, as I recall. Must have been hard on her health - she only lived to 98.

Always felt like a newcomer.

Casin's has been in use by my family as well.

At one time our family owned most of Travis County. They should have kept it.

And a wrench and a spanner are sliiiightly different. They do the same job, but a wrench is more commonly adjustable while a spanner isn't. It varies with who you talk to!
