1896-1988 Robert Klaas was a German firm with a tang stamp of two "Kissing Cranes". Can't say when your knife was made but it has a 1950-60's look. Just a guess. That blade shape is a smaller version of the Western States (USA) company's "39 Series". Kabar(USA) also had a very similar version to yours in the 50's-60's. (Pic below)
I don't think it's highly valuable except as a family piece for you, but, who knows ? Clean it up a little, treat the leather, don't grind it. Nice, good luck with it. J.O'.
