Sharpnshinyknives wrote: Thu Aug 04, 2022 12:37 am Not sure why I pulled the trigger on this one the other day, but it’s exactly what I have always wanted in a Sodbuster, a thumb stud, linerlock and a pocket clip. Smith and Sons had this made in Maniago Italy. G10 handles and a carbon steel blade. I may end up having to carry this one. Still uncertain what I am going to do with it, but the more I look at it and handle it, the more I just want to use it.
Now that is one cool Sod Buster there! ::nod:: Nice find! ::tu::

Too bad it would be an illegal carry here in Germany because you can open it with one hand. ::undecided::

Got these in from Mr. Finamore, he calls them honing his skills at fixed blades, I call them very nice and knives that I’m proud and not scared to use. Thanks much Jeff

Also picked up a Bradford guardian 3 from a AAPK member

Nice bunch of knives you showed us today Jamie. I'm partial to the Lion Steel folders, and happen to own one of their "Bestman" models with spear-point blade and ebony covers and I just love it. Your pair with Olivewood covers look specially nice too. 8)

Yes I too am going to own more of them, I searched out their Barlow models and they no longer make them with olive scales, but I went through the lionsteel forum and they were pictures of the Barlows with olive handles back in 2018, so my guess is 2018-2019 on the two models I picked up. But I will tell you they are some fine cutlery. The best man series are back ordered but are on my wants lists, so when they become available I have a couple.

Just got this Fiskars Puukko for just over $20 shipped. I'm not sure of age, and as huge as Fiskars is, you'd think there's a large amount of info on their products before they bought Gerber, but nope.

It's lightweight, well balanced, and has a reasonably thick (1/8") five-inch blade. However, it's almost too pretty to use.

Got this Sears Craftsman 9481 Trapper in the mail on Friday. It's 3 7/8" with very fine ::hmm:: I guess you'd call it "saw cute" delrin handles. It cost €33.50 shipped, which was about €10 more than I really wanted to spend on it but I knew I'd probably never find another one like it in Germany so I bit the bullet on this one. I'm glad I did though because I really like it. Except for some spots on the blades & springs it's in very good condition. It won't shave off hair or cut any paper (yet) but it doesn't appear as if it has ever been sharpened either. Over all, I am stoked about adding it to my EDC rotation. I especially like the blade forms, stamp & the shield. ::nod::

Thanks for looking friends! ::handshake:: :D

I’m a fan of Craftsman, I suppose because Sears was so much of my family’s life growing (before there was any Walmart, Target, etc.). This one looks great, Tom! I think you made a very good purchase!
