Great Ebay deal; "blade is slightly loose but not much"
Another eBay creampuff you can bid on right now; "Vintage VIETNAM ERA CAMILLUS U.S. 1965 4' BLADE FOLDING POCKET KNIFE. Please see photos this is the exact item you will receive. Item is used larger blade is slightly loose but not much opener it hard to get out otherwise works like it should."
Well, it is good to know that the main blade "is slightly loose but not much"
it sure looks secure and tight to me from the photos...

If he would have included the phrase "could be restored to mint" that is used so much, all would be good.

Other than the chance you'll break a spring, these old Demo knives are tough as nails. All I can say is, how? I could understand it if the completely exploded pin and bent frame were on the screwdriver end, but the blade?

In this condition, I'd say it's ready for a pine box.

Yep, that's a mess...
While we're on the topic of these old US knives, is there a year or date range more desirable to collectors?
I noticed that there's some listed at over a hundred bucks at times

Re: Great Ebay deal; "blade is slightly loose but not much"
I can only think of three possibilities and their all just guesses on my part.Gone2Three wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 1:02 pm![]()

1.) Since they're all dated with the year of manufacture it could be the date of the buyer's (or relative, or acquaintance) birth.
2.) Need that year to complete a collection.
3.) Maybe Viet Nam date influenced. For me it would be the year I landed there and or the year I caught my freedom bird.
You may be able to think of more. An ignorant seller/buyer is always a possibility with any sale. I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of.
