I'd hardly call myself an SAK expert (there are folks who know much more about them than I), but thanks for the nod! ::handshake::

I've had two SwissChamps, but both have found new owners. For me, they're a little too much. The main reason is that they have two tools I rarely use: the magnifying glass and the metal saw. My use of the scissors has also greatly diminished. The little pliers can be really handy, though. Though I prefer slimmer models for carry, I view owning a SwissChamp as sort of a rite of passage for SAK fans, and I would add an older model or one with a cool logo to my collection.

Redrider, it is not unusual to find Bulldog knives with imprints about tobacco or horses. The knives were initially distributed in places like Kentucky where tobacco and horses were major economic forces.

Thanks for the info, QS. ::handshake::

Nice carries, eweinbrand and David. ::tu:: ::tu::

Decided to carry Bareheads this week, first up is a New York Knife Co. Hammer Brand. Decent shape for a folder this old, plenty of snap and sharp enough to get the job done.

Dan, I think you are right on this one, the Swiss Champ feels a little too bulky for carry and I would agree that they're "a little too much". I think the Hiker SAK has a about the right size and combo of tools. I think a standard multi tool has a much more powerful pair of pliers/wire cutters and I use those a lot, so I think the Leatherman Wave, OTH etc. wins on that front. So, the Leatherman goes back on my belt. Still, I hate to part with Swiss Champ and I think it will stay in my "Bug-out bag" and when the Zombie Apocalypses comes, I can trade it for a can of beans or if I am lucky some expired tuna fish
