Some great stuff coming out!!!! Bill you know the cards well. Here is something I picked up a long time ago and had framed. It's a counter felt that shows the Walden/Bingham connection.

Here's a picture of a old keen kutter delievery trike. Double click on the picture and you can see on the rear bumper it was made by Indian.

Figured I would post a few more before going to work today. Carrier Cutlery catalog and flyer pages. All the knives in the catalog are full sized but the only one full sized in the flyer is the last page.

I just bought this off ebay and am very glad I was able to get it. I have been looking for anything marked Binghamton Cutlery for about 15 years after I got my only Binghamton Cutlery knife.

Pics of knife and envelope.

What a find Mike! Amazing that that old card survived for so long. Were Binghamton's knives made in house? That's a real beauty of an example! ::tu:: ::tu::

I am not sure if they made their own knives or if they had them made with the Binghamton mark? PA do you know? I remember you telling me about some info about the company when you were researching your book.

By the way PA you are in my Will!!!!!

Mike, I suspect that Binghamton was made by Schrade Cut. Co.
Take a look at these. The rivet locations and shield are telling, even though yours is a barehead.

Here is a original post card sent to a employee of the Schrade Cutlery Co in August of 1914.

I wonder how Ron & Stan did fishing?

Mike hears what I know about Binghamton.

BiNGHAMTON CUTLERY CO.,

Manufacturers of Pocket Cutlery, and Importers of Fine Razors,
Office, 215 Washington Street.

This enterprise
Avas originally instituted at Richmond, Ind., and was removed to this city in 1888. The products of the company embrace an almost unlimited number of styles, sizes and kinds of pocket knives, which under the stamp, "The Very Best," fully vindicate the claims of the maker by their uniform high quality. The aim of the company has always been to produce the
best goods in the market, goods for all purposes and for everybody. All their products are made throughout by experienced workmen, and the blades are hand-forged from Wardlow's English steel, which is everywhere recognized as the best steel produced in the world for cut-
lery. The knife blades are all finely edged and ready for use, and are warranted to be exactly as represented or money will be refunded. The company puts up everything in the way of pocket cutlery, and also handles at wholesale fine razors of their own importation. They are
also headquarters for the Ohio Co-operative Shear Company, whose products they supply to the trade at manufacturers' prices. The trade of the house extends throughout a large section of New York and Penn- sylvania, and in the Western States generally, and is annually increasing in volume. The Binghamton Cutlery Company is fully abreast of the times in all that could add to the high quality of. their products or tend to decrease the cost of production, and the trade will find upon entering into business relations with it that advantages will accrue difficult to procure elsewhere. Mr. J. M. Hanford, the enterprising proprietor of the establishment, is an expert in the production of fine cutlery, and is well and widely known to the trade as a progressive and fair dealing business man.
Importer or razors from 1888 to 1894

Being that we are showing so much honesty online here. You are in my will also. "and to think that my son thought he could just sell ole Dad's knives when he's gone"

Thanks PA, I am not sure about the Schrade connection Charlie but than again I am not sure they made their own knives either. Robeson made a knife with the same top bolster, wish I had one, and so did Utica. Like Schrade Utica made knives for many companies, more than most people know about.

Here is a Utica that has the same bolster but in a bigger frame 4 1/2" closed.

Wish I knew for sure. PA's last post says they were a manufacturer???

Don, that's a Washington bolster, fairly common in the thirties-fifties. I'm not aware of anyone producing that style nowadays, but there might be.

Mike, your knife is the only one I've seen in that style without the cap bolster. Didn't realized there were quite so many manufacturers producing that style ::drool:: :D

Just got these two little beauties this afternoon at my favorite antique store. They are heavy card stock and look to be for the display of pocket knives but are unpunched for the elastic used to hold them in place. The colors on the larger of the two are amazing. The price was pretty amazing as well:$5 each.
