Re: NEED HELP WITH WINCHESTER QUESTIONS
I would also be interested in seeing some of the knives that were actually made at the Ohio plant of Bluegrass Cutlery. Tim Scott indicated that they made some knives there when I talked to him a couple of years ago and also mentioned that Queen made some knives for them also. I just haven't seen any of them.

Nice Winchesters redrider. All of your Winchester knives look like they were Queen produced to me??? Anyone have a Winchester brand knife that they know for sure was completely made in Ohio? I've never seen one made in Ohio or didn't know it if I did see one.

Re: NEED HELP WITH WINCHESTER QUESTIONS
I saw a beautiful Winchester 2679 4 5/8" 'pen knife' (if I can call it that) in ebony in the AAPK store and Google eventually led me to this thread which pretty much covers Winchester's interesting knife history, and is almost a Winchester sub-forum in itself because it told me what I wanted to know about Winchester knives.
The 'pen knife' is beyond my budget but now I know why.

Re: NEED HELP WITH WINCHESTER QUESTIONS
First time poster here so y'all be gentle please. I don't own any Winchester pocket knives, but came across one I'm interested in. I just don't know anything about them. Brief description: Lockback, bone handle (looks fairly old. Maybe early 80's), has Winchester on the blade, no tang stamps that I can see, and has a round "W" inlay on the scales. I've looked in the places I generally look for info and kind find anything. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Re: NEED HELP WITH WINCHESTER QUESTIONS
There are a LOT of Winchester fakes, and a lot of authorized Winchester reproductions. "Looks fairly old, maybe 80s" is several decades after the last original authentic Winchester knives were made. Without seeing a picture of the knife you're asking about it is near impossible to tell what it is, but if there are no tang stamps I'd be very suspicious. If you have a picture you can post maybe someone can help.

Thanks Ken, I had feeling it was a knockoff of some sort, but it had a look that caught my eye and made me curious. I think I'll steer clear of it.

Here's a pic. I think. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the forum correctly. My apologies if I'm not doing this right. What is this thing?

Re: NEED HELP WITH WINCHESTER QUESTIONS
This knife is not a knockoff, but neither was it made by Winchester.
After Winchester stopped making their own knives, they contracted different companies to make knives for them, with their name on it. These make good user knives, but I am not aware of any having any collector value.
Yours is one that was made by someone else for Winchester. It might be an import from an Asian country, or it might not be. I wish that I could tell you more, but that reaches my limit on the subject.

Thanks for the feedback Reverend. The design and scale material caught my eye.
