Love that knapped knife. Great antler, and it looks like obsidian or some volcanic glass to me. Don't know, just guessing from the pics, but I LOVE that piece. Beautiful stuff in there. Great group, congrats.

Thanks Ivoryman, not sure on it either but totally transparent with what looks like a couple carbon spots in it.

After your observation of the suggested obsidian flint knife (thanks much) I quickly search and found this https://www.ebay.com/itm/354149147086
Looks the same to me other than the binding
Thanks Iman

Lots of GREAT looking knives being shown. ::tu::

My most recent pick up is from Dale (Orvet Customs). This beauty is awesome and just downright artistically created. Buffalo horn, leather rounds and elk horn. Dale made the handle for over-sized hands, and it fits me perfectly. Dale's design started with a blank Schrade 153UH factory blade...and everything else is totally his creation and unique expertise. I now have a keepsake knife with Dale's logo on the tang and pommel (end of elk). Thanks for putting together this AWESOME knife, Dale. ::handshake::

All photos were taken by Dale. I tried taking photos, but didn't turn out anywhere near as nice as those that Dale took. You can read more on this knife in Dale's "SOLD" listing of this knife in his store.

Nothing fancy but my latest from a guy that is a maintenance man at an apartment complex and these were left behind. Got them fairly cheap.

I got these the other week from a friend for some work I did for him, only the bottom one is french as far as I can tell, laguiole are odd as the blade seems to hit the backspring due to no kick , supposedly the french have a saying about softly closing the blade , anyway the bottom horn ine is very nice and due to blade wear the blade doesnt touch the backspring, sadly though the blade is over 3 inches so not a uk legal carry :(

Thanks, Paul, Mark & Dan. I appreciate your comments on a GREAT knife. ::handshake::

PS: I forgot to mention in my OP that Dale also handmade the leather sheath. He did awesome work all the way around. I especially like the Eagle he put on it and included the sharpening stone in the pouch.

I know what you're talking about Paul, I've been collecting unusual knives from around the world too, and so far have close to 100 or so from different countries. I'm also quite aware of the discouragement one feels when they have to buy an entire lot of knives in order to secure the one you want, but it happens sometimes. 8)
