Have not found many nice Empires over the years but did land a nice one the other day. 3 5/8" largish jack, pretty full blades, pattern number with the letter S on pile side tang. Etched R S Patrick Duluth Minn, from what little I can find R S Patrick was a mining equipment company and had a patent for diamond drill bits.

That's such a beautiful knife, John. It doesn't seem like they could get any better than that.

Re: Empire Knife Company
Picked up another nice Empire, 3 3/8" jack with great stag, full blades with a very faint Empire Brand etch. Love how stag goes bolster to bolster unlike modern knives. Also has a wrap around spring, not all that common.

You've got another beauty, John. Good for you.
I'm glad these great knives are in a good collection.
That wrap around spring is a nice touch.

Re: Empire Knife Company
Thanks to Roger was able to add another nice Empire to the sheepsfoot jack collection, a curved jack in ebony with a "For New England Whalers" etch. I would think this one dates late 1800's early 1900's.

Re: Empire Knife Company
I see why the stag is dark on the farmers jack Ken Erickson made Charlie to match Empire's stag.

John, that is an extremely attractive piece of cutlery, love that pattern and those bolsters with ebony.
