My daughter Jazlin graduates from High School today so I picked out my dressiest EDC's and the cleanest slips I have for this special occasion.

Congratts to your daughter Tom! You may not have a fancy 3-peice suit, but your 4-piece knife assembly beats a $1000 John Gotti Armani in my book

They first made the Sequel with different handles (I think they were black,but I am not sure of the material they used). Mine is one of a limited edition that was made for Shot Show several years ago. I found mine at a knife store this month. The handles are blue aluminum on this limited run. The Sequel was discontinued.... not sure why, it is a really nice knife.

The blue aluminum handles really make it a beautiful piece I think many of the B.M. knives are discontinued to bring new knives out and create a sort of collector's market and fuel more sales. just a hunch

Thanks for the comments everyone! I / we appreciate it! I took my Tablet along with me and took a ton of pictures. Let me know if anyone is interested in seeing pictures of a German H.S. Graduation. Then I could start an off topic thread & post them there. Not sure if it's really a topic of interest or not.

I'll admit, I was the most underdressed father there. I had on some 3/4 pants, a Polo shirt & my dressiest sneakers but everyone else was all decked out with fine shirts, suits, ties, dress shoes, ect. With my wife it was pretty much the same way. We felt veeery out of place and many folks looked at us like we were not worthy of being there. It was an awkward situation to say the least. Oh well, you live & learn, we got through it.

On a brighter note, my daughter also recieved two extra awards. One in Chemistry & another one in "Social Politics" so I guess that's like Social Studies. She also had the 5th highest Grade point average (from 50 students). They made mention of those in the top ten. Jazlin had a GPA of 1.3 ( 1 = A ) ( 2 = B ) ect. So with all the extra things they had to say about her, that made me very proud. I may have had the worst cloths on there but I also had one of the smartest graduates. And the Newspapier was there & took extra pictures of those who recieved extra awards so she'll be in the Newspapier to remind all those who looked at us like we were out of place that fancy cloths aren't everything.

Don't feel self conscious. It's a good thing my boys are grown with families of their own because now that I've handed early 60s to my rear-view mirror, I'm liable to show up in PJ pants, flop-flops, tank-top and my straw hat! Congratulations to your daughter for her academic accomplishments!

My carry for today: a very recently received green Alox Victorinox Bantam and my trusty Case 3137. The red Victorinox Classic SD is on standby just in case Beijing will tolerate a trim.

There is a bit of a story behind that little red knife. It was part of an eBay lot of small SAKs that had an out-the-door unit price of $1.65. When I received it, it had no key ring, a Conoco inlay in bad shape, a missing Swiss cross inlay, and a broken blade tip. I sent it off for some repair work. The blade and scales (as well as the scissors) were replaced, and a key ring was added. I didn't want new scissors or a key ring, and didn't think to specify that. But I did expect to be charged for the repair...and wound up paying only for shipping both ways. I'm overall pleased with Victorinox's service...but I'll be more specific with future repair requests.
