Here's an old 6279 Case penknife with Green bone handles, from the early tested era. By most accounts that would put this knife somewhere around the early 20's. Note the early diamond shield. This knife is also marked on both blades.

Hi and thanks smiling knife, and Steve I can see why that 10 dot 79 pattern is one of your favorites, it has long been my belief that the 1970 10 dots have some of the most beautiful bone colors of all.

This isn't in the same league with what you folks are showing, and it's not even a 79 pattern, , but it's the only Case pen knife I've got. It's a 10 dot 92042 (with no R), but it does have a bail. IMO, it's a nice little knife...even if it doesn't seem to be marked correctly. ::doh::

Bill

P. S.
Yes, that is the eBay photo...I've GOT to take another one.

great looking knives! im especially envious of that trapper. i would love to come across a 10 dotter like that some day. i dont know what it is, but i do especially like the 10 dot knives especially the 70 knives. i guess because it was the first year of the dot system. heres a few more of my 10 dot collection.
