Nice piece!
I think the curves of the earlier Crosslocks made them look so much better than the clunky aluminum frames with slots cut into them used on later models. Been meaning on getting one with a hoof pick and another with a seatbelt cutter/pry tool, and there is a seller with reasonable prices, but not so reasonable shipping (like $15 each, and they don't combine).

2020 Buck 285 Bantam, Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops SFO. Never got why the 283 packed with it wasn't orange too.
Buck is sorely lacking in solid colors for the Bantam line. There's this one, and then the 284 in blue (which was a Colt SFO), and well, that's it. The camo patterns don't age well, as they are just vinyl wraps over black handles.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Mini pizza bagels--picked them up at Sam's Club a couple of months back. They're pretty good. The one complaint I'll make is that getting just the right texture is hit-or-miss. Sometimes, using the crisper tray they're packed on results on them being hard as a rock. Putting them on the "bacon cooking" dish I usually use for small microwaveable items often results in them being too chewy.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:39 amHmmm...cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:42 am 2020 Buck 285 Bantam, Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops SFO. I think letting them thaw a bit before they are microwaved and then using the crisper tray they're packed on usually results in the best results.

At today's prices I hope they haven't gone bad sitting there on the counter for a couple of months!cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:49 amMini pizza bagels--picked them up at Sam's Club a couple of months back.GSPTOPDOG wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 2:39 amHmmm...cody6268 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 18, 2022 1:42 am 2020 Buck 285 Bantam, Cabela's/Bass Pro Shops SFO. Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Thanks!
A most excellent trio! I'd like to get some range time with a 10mm.
That's a gripe I have with Victorinox and anything that has Alox scales and isn't a Classic SD. Your Buck sure does look good in orange!
Some really nice Micarta!
Choosing the Saturday carry is going to be sorta difficult for me...

Re: WHAT ARE YOU CARRYIN RIGHT NOW? WHAT IS YOUR FAV EDC?
Choosing the final carry for a week of "from one AAPK member to another" was a little difficult, as I got a big ol' bomb dropped on me by TPK. I went with an F.H.N. Solingen pen from that recent bombing run, an Imperial that TripleF bombed me with last year, and a Leatherman Freestyle (as chosen by Bluegrass the cat).

Noticed after I posted this ole heifer yestiddy how much Delrin haze there was in the jigging, cleaned up fairly well and so I decide I'd tote it again today.

Nice little group, Tom! The Purina is especially appealing.

Had the Schrade 893 all day. The 92 Eureka just part of the day. Love this old Schrade with Jeffinn bones. His stuff is great, check out Second Life Knives. Really like his work.
