That is insane beauty, the minimalist tasteful curves and artsy lines. Wow what a thing of beauty. Bunch of nice scores on this page you made. Kudos.Sharpnshinyknives wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:37 pm Saw this drop the other day from JKD on these very limited Master Hattori knives. Got one just in the nick of time before they sold out. Ebony handles with a turquoise spacer and brass bolster and end cap. This model is called Gecko and there is a gecko on the end cap. The blade is very thick and ground expertly to a razor sharpness. Beautiful box with COA and nice leather sheath. The price was reasonable for one of Master Hattori’s knives.
Very good batch there Case XX. Congrats on beauty everywhere.
Great group there Painter, congrats and thanks for showing. Love a good group shot and those are some beauties.
Great show everyone. Congrats, looking good.

Finally got the Red G-10 Button-Lock version of the Kizer Swaggs Swayback and it's every bit as nice as my other two. Nice smooth & fast one-finger flipper opening. Really loving this particular model from Kizer's Vanguard Series.
My only concern with this button-lock version is that it does not seem to have as solid a lock up as the liner lock versions, IMO. It's not loose and there's no blade play, but it just doesn't feel quite as solid to me. The button releases the blade with very little pressure, so maybe that's why it doesn't seem as solid as the liner locks which require more pressure to release. Also, because of the placement of the button, it seems potentially possible to inadvertently press the button and unlock the blade while using the knife.

Beautiful knife ~Q~!
I find those Kizer knives to be very reasonably priced for all the knife you're getting. Sorry the button-lock isn't living up to expectations, but they are a responsible company that I doubt would allow something unsafe to be released onto the market. Perhaps you'll just get use to it. As for an accidental push of the button, these buttons are usually somewhat recessed in order to prevent something like that, at least on automatics they are. Enjoy your new knife!

Good looking knife. I especially like the bit of jimping on the spine at the tang and the jimping on the flipper lever. HAS to be better traction on the flip lever with that going on. Great wide stout Wharn too. Congrats.
Case XX, that's a nice addition. Love the powder blue with the lighter yellow around the hafting. Striking fivesome.

Someone here put this hair in my butt, so I plucked it !
A lot of flex in it, but for $15 not sure what I expected.
The liner lock is backwards though. It pushes right to unlock.

Still waiting for mine to show up, Q. I ordered it from smkw on 08 June and they still haven't sent me a 'shipping' confirmation.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 4:52 am Finally got the Red G-10 Button-Lock version of the Kizer Swaggs Swayback and it's every bit as nice as my other two. I'm left-handed, so that's an extra selling point for me. I've been considering buying an MAM for probably 5 years now, but never pulled the trigger, partly as I thought the linerlock was normal.

If memory serves me correctly, 111mm Swiss Army knives also have a liner lock that's opposite from what most Americans are used to. Maybe that's a European thing?
Some nice pick-ups, everyone!

Zenith Germany 905. No half-stop but nice crisp opening/closing snap. Wharncliffe blade looks like it still has original factory edge. Not sure what the handle is...some kind of composite, I suspect. Nice little knife.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
One reason I've heard is it's due to some European knife law--preventing it from being closed with one hand. That doesn't make sense, as many European nations prohibit locking knives anyway.
Second reason I've heard is that's the only way it fits in the frame. Mikov makes a roughly 100mm line of SAK clones the same way, so I presume that's the truth.

Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Indeed it is!
That's a plausible explanation. I know it's too much hassle for Everyman to carry a locking knife in the UK. Amazingly enough, the package I recently sent over there (for the second time!) made it to its intended destination today.
