Case Knife Info

Hi,

Received this Case Barlow as a gift. Has carbon blades and what appears to be a mahogany colored bone handle.

Would someone be good enough to give some history and approximate production date?

If the tang reads Case XX ? That would put it 1940-64
Highly sought after as a great user .

Nice looking old Barlow pattern, they made several different ones so need to know closed length to determine which one. Sawn bone handles, standard Case bone color for the time it was made. To determine approximate time frame of manufacture click on Research in the header at the top of this page, scroll down to W.R. Case Pocket Knife Age Identification, which will take you here https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/co ... ification/. Then compare the tang stamp on the knife with the charts shown.

Appreciate the information and links. Blade stamp is CASE XX and closed length appears to be 3 3/8". Some additional photos attached so 1945-1950?

Probably a 62009-1/2 (the 1/2 denotes a clip master blade - the 62009 has a spear master). Probably better look at the tang stamp age chart again. 1945 - 1964 (not 1950). I don’t think you can get it any closer than that but maybe someone else knows.

I have one similar to that- a brown Delrin. Solid, useful knife to carry.
