Post by carvin don »

Tried carvin' and paintin' a bluetick hound this past week. I need more practice on carvin' animals, was a fun lil' project though.

Hey Don,
Nice job on the hound. Did you get the inspiration from the saloon carving book? I take it with me to the doctor's office and read it while my wife is waiting to see the doctor. I have read it several times and get something new from it each time. Thanks again for it.

I have finally ordered my lathe and some tools to start turning. Hope to get it in the next few days. Will post pics of some of my work. Thanks again and very nice pooch.

Thanks a bunch for the encouraging words fellas'.

You have a Beautiful pup there Archer ::tu::

Keith, Not exactly from that book, but the fella who carved the curled up dog in that book is where I got this pattern. His name is Tom Wolfe, outstanding carver. He has 'bout 50 books out there on various subjects. This one was from his dog pattern book. Hey, that's great news 'bout yer lathe. Can't wait to see what 'ya turn on it. ::tu::

And CCBill, I was assured the video wouldn't harm the innocent  So I sent 'ya an email.

Thanks again fellers for the kind words!

Don, your hound reminded me of a time that I spent the night on the side of a country road in Miss.
Took a walk in the morning & when I came back my camper was full of hounds that had been hunting all night & thought I was there ride home, Got all of them out by feeding them all my baloney except one that was craped out on my bed. I had a hell of time getting him out, he tried to bite me. I thought I was going to haft to take him home with me. trigo
