Pal Blade Co. Jack (1945-53) From A Time Capsule
This PAL jack wasn't really from a time capsule, but the seller advertised it as absolutely, unequivocably mint. And it was, except for the scales, which were starting to show a lot cracks and, my favorite telltale sign of celluloid outgassing, the reddish brown discoloration where the edge of the bolsters meet the scales. As soon as I saw the knife, I knew what evil was going on under the scales, and amputated them immediately. Fortunately, there was no metal damage. I decided that some gnarly, fat stag was in order.
