Re: Mail Call !-Post your new pick-ups here............
Received this one today. Fished it out of the bay. It is a Imperial EO Jack with bail. It has all the indications of being a Navy General Utility Knife. It is 3-3/8" closed, bone handles, has the bail, the Master Spear Point blade has a tang stamp of IMPERIAL over PROV RI, and the secondary pen blade tang stamp is U.S.A. It appears to have nickle silver bolsters, and has brass liners. The obverse handle has pretty good color, but the pile side is faded. Both blades have some luster, but have spots and scratches. Master spear point blade has weak snap but is rough feeling. The pen blade has great snap and is a little more smooth. I plan on a warm mineral oil soak,& flush, hoping it will make both blades smoother and maybe add a little more snap on the spear point. Afterward oil it and work on sharpening and evening the blade edges. Overall for $32 I am pretty pleased with it.

Great little piece you have , the military issued stuff from that period is fun to add to any part of your collection . The pile side bone is unusually light colored but still nice , the mark side bone is a perfect example from those days and knives.
Catch you later

Received this No. 56 Queen in the mail today, compliments of Triple F (Scott).
I spotted it in one of his recent piles he had acquired.
The tang stamp is about gone but with magnification it is obviously from the 1958-60 era. It has imitation Winterbottom handles. It still walks and talks.
The Queen 1960 catalog calls it a Balloon Pattern. One of the other resources refer to the #56 as a Swell Center. It is 3.5" closed. The clip is pretty good, the 56 on the etch is still visible but the pen blade has been sharpened quite a bit. Treefarmer

Here ya go Cudgee. Both blades are smooth opening & closing now, and it did help the snap on the main blade. They are both sharp now. It also refreshed the bone a bit.
