Just got this one back from the knife mechanic yesterday, thought it would be a good coffee walk companion since my wife is out of town.

You can't fool me, that isn't coffee in that cup. I have been drinking coffee for 60 years, I know! That is a dang fine looking knife though!

I had to go to the DMV Friday morning to renew my license and get the Real ID upgrade I was supposed to get two years ago. Swung by Panera around Noon to grab a coffee on the way into work. I have a coffee club membership, so I scan my card and reach for a cup but there aren't any. Have to stand in line just to get a to-go cup for the coffee I already "paid" for. Finally get the cup, fill it with Hazelnut coffee, a little Almond milk and honey and head to work. Notice right off the bat my coffee tastes like black tea. Well, I like Thai tea so I just went with it but the amount of caffeine definitely made me jittery.

I was just picking at 'ya. At my age jittery is good, it is either that or doze off.

Going with a POS Exchange that had issues but were resolved by a reputable knife mechanic. Robert Klass Kissing Crane with a blade for every occasion, even a wine happy hour. Nice horn and the scissor spring isn't broken. Don't tell LJ, he may want this one back!

Today I'm packin' this Humason & Beckley pearl whittler. Just sharpened it this morning. It's a little beauty. 3 1/4"

Humason & Beckley; 1852 - 1916 in New Briton, Ct.
Sold to Landers, Frary & Clark, also in New Briton, Ct., in 1912. They used the H&B stamp until 1916. (Goins)

I think you can also build a similar model in the Buck Custom Shop.

It's sitting on top of a die that is used to stamp out stainless steel parts. The die is on a storage shelf waiting for the next time we run those parts. An interesting fact about the die is that the part of the die that cuts the stainless steel is made of D2 Tool Steel which is often used to make knife blades.

I got a four-line Camillus Army Engineer's Knife from my group this year that is surprisingly in good shape EXCEPT for a worn out blade and a removed bail. Awl, screwdriver, and can opener all are undamaged and snap great. Given most of them that I see have damaged bone and the other tools broken, any of those can give me a good blade and a bail, and it's back in business.
