I'm shooting for 450lbs and 100 to 110 HP.
I just happen to have one Owd. It comes in the form of a 1983 Honda V65 Magna. An original crotch rocket before they made you have to lie down to ride one!

I just don't feel like learnin a new system. Been ridin and wrenchin old rigid big twin junk too long.
The only "real" Harley parts on that sled I'm building are the rear wheel and the tranny..
I'm gettin old ( OWD) but I refuse to grow up.

Re: what do ya'll look like?
I'd give my left n*% for that bike Wullie. That is what I would consider a dream bike. I get sick and tired of seeing the new stuff coming out of Milwaukee. The Cross Bones bike is the biggest loser yet. I had a brand new 1996 Electra Glide that would barely pass a semi and it was the biggest dissapointment I've ever had in a bike, nothing but one problem after another. Had a valve stem snap off the front tire doing 80 mph coming back from the Harley rendevous in West Branch, Michigan. I was fortunate I didn't wreck and was able to get that bike to a stop without too much trouble. I still don't know why the valve stem snapped off.

Can you say MURDERCYCLE?
My old 750 Honda used to eat pretty much on the road.
It was a '70 model year (the first year they were out) with a serial number of 1000998.
I topped it out one day racing a Chevelle. I hit 5th and walked away from him. Topped out at 130 mph.
It wasn't as light as your 450 lbs, I think the dry weight was 500 lbs.
At 130 mph, I was wishing for another 50 lbs or so.
I put about 80,000 miles on that old scooter. Great ridin' machine.

Re: what do ya'll look like?
Thanks guys. Maybe it'll run one of these years before I'm too old to kick it.
Orvet I know what ya mean about wishin for some more weight. I had a 90" shovel with 10.5 to 1 compression and a LOT of spank. I pulled the trigger on that punk one night and ran it till that Super E went dry and it went lean on me. We were eatin up some miles in a big hurry. The clock on that bike only went to a hundred and a buddy of mine in a Chevy pickup had his floored and he said I was walkin off like he was standing still. It wasn't a happy sled at that speed. I guess the Lord had his quota of dummies that night because I'm here to tell you that was absolutely one of the dumbest things I've ever done on a Harley.
I let off the throttle and at about 80, that thing went into a tank slappin head shake. The front wheel was flopping from stop to stop. I was going into a curve and it wasn't looking good for the home boy. I figured WTF and grabbed all the front brake I could get and twisted the throttle wide open at the same time. The headshake stopped, I barely made the corner. I rode on home like a good little boy after that experience. My pard in the pickup that started the race said I put on quite a show.
I had her up to 80 or so several times after that and it never offered to get stupid on me. Sold it to a brother and he rode the wheels off it and sold it to another guy. I tried to buy it back, but he sold it and I've lost track of it. Probably a good thing.
That was also the last time I rode that bike drunk.
I keep what little drinkin I do nowadays, confined to home front.

Re: what do ya'll look like?
Whoa Wullie!
I think that would have been enough to make me sell that putt, or at least rebuild the front end from the frame to the road. That ain't a good feeling. You are pretty lucky you didn’t have a major case of road rash!
I really appreciated the engineering on the old Honda.
I only had one problem with mine & it wasn't the bikes fault.
I was coming out of an alley and turning onto a street, using more throttle than I should have. I found a bumper off a Chevy that had fallen off a low rider. By the time I saw it, it was too late to do anything.
I went down & took the mirror off with my face then proceeded to get road rash on my face. A Navy Corpsman put 97 (IIRC) stitches in my face around my eye. Those Corpsmen were better doctors than the Doctors!
Last year I got in contact with a guy I was stationed with at MCAS El Toro, in CA. I hadn’t seen him since 1972. We exchanged a few emails and he sent me a picture of me he took after I stacked up my scooter.
You are lucky you didn’t look like that too!
(Obviously I wasn’t wearing a helmet.)

Re: what do ya'll look like?
Yup, twas an ignorant move. No doubt.
I had my dealin's with Navy corpsmen on several occasions about the same time you did ( no road rash from bikes). I did get both of my wrists broken riding bulls in an "open rodeo" in Douglas, GA one Saturday night. Two black eyes, busted nose and hole through my bottom lip. Just another day in the life. ROTF. Squadron wasn't too happy with me. I didn't get busted though as I had run a special request chit through and it was approved. They revoked it after that.
I was in VA-82 aboard the USS AMERICA CVA-66 with CAG-8 back then. I was a redshirt AO2. Our homeport was NAS Cecil Field, Jaxsonville, FL.
Small world eh?
As for that bike, we figured out that it was a trail issue. It had 4 inch over fork tubes. Put some stock length tubes in it and it was a totally different animal.

You look like someone just told you about the half price sale down at the knife store!
That's not a golf picture over your shoulder is it?

This is a great thread that Johnnie Fain started. It's really good being able to have faces to associate with your names. Some of you are somewhat how I had you pictured in my mind. Some of you are not.
OK. Here are some photos of me as a young boy, already into pocketknives.......me and wife, Sarah, and our granddaughter Katelyn on the South Carolina coast in 2007......and our dog, Bonni, a West Highland Terrier, the smartest dog I have ever owned..

Re: what do ya'll look like?
Well since I looked at everyone else's photo on this thread, I thought I would post mine. Because all of the photos of me seem to always contain my wife and best friend of 32 years, Doreen, she is the good looking one next to me.
Note: So I won't get any replies questioning the authenticity of the pictures, I must admit that the first one has been slightly altered to remove some of my gray hair.

I Just don't think anyone wanted a picture of me, at least after searching I still cant find another one. This is my youngest offspring about forty years ago. Looks as though he just finished an 80 mile Hare and Hound.

Edit: after looking a bit more I did find one, I think maybe I have aged a bit better than some of you guys.
